Potter Valley Youth and Community Center Hands Helping in Our Community Today the Center also identifies the need for services to teens as well ESL classes.

Potter Valley Youth and Community Center (PVYCC) , a non-profit established in 1995, is located in Potter Valley, California and serves the greater Potter Valley area. Potter Valley is located in the unincorporated area of Mendocino County and has no local county agencies/satellites to provide health and human services for children and families. In 2010, some of the most pressing issues identified

for this inland area were: alcohol and other drug services, access to medical services, and child abuse prevention. This Family Resource Center was created by PVYCC in 2008 with a Healthy Start grant aimed at assisting families whose children attended Potter Valley schools. It operates on a daily basis, Monday through Friday, providing a variety of family strengthening services in a facility rented from the school district. The primary target populations for the Center are children, youth and families but the Center does intend to serve all in their small community.

We're gearing up for our annual Free Sports Physicals and Back to School Fair. Mark it on your calendars - Saturday, July 18, 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. and plan on joining us!

It's one of our favorite community outreach events and we can't wait to see everyone. Aside from sports physicals, we will also have a Back-to-School Fair filled with school supplies and information booths for all students and their families.

This free event is designed to help students get ready for the 2026–2027 school sports season with no-cost sports physicals for school-aged children. Since sports physicals are required for student athletes participating in school sports, this is a great opportunity to check it off your list early. Sports physicals are valid for a year.

Families can also explore our Back-to-School Fair under the big tent featuring:

-Backpacks & school supplies
-Community resources
-Free health screenings
-Family-friendly activities

No appointment needed — first come, first served. Parent or guardian consent is required for youth athletes. Mark your calendars now and help us spread the word.

Hello June!

Summer is officially almost here, and we have an exciting month ahead at PVYCC!

Join us as we celebrate our graduates, kick off our summer programs, enjoy community events, and gather together through activities for youth and families. From Headwaters Take & Bake meals and Community Market evenings to Summer ELOP and Preschool Enrichment, there is something for everyone this month.

Please note that PVYCC will be closed in observance of Juneteenth.

Be sure to check out our June calendar for a full list of upcoming events and program schedules. We look forward to making this a fun, memorable, and meaningful month for our community!

Those who have students at Kudos in 1st - 8th grade:

With the warm weather and early release days coming up, we will be enjoying water activities at KUDOS on Tuesday, June 9 through Thursday, June 11.

Please send your child with:
✅ Clothes that can get wet
✅ A towel
✅ A change of clothes (recommended)
✅ A reusable water bottle

The weather is warming up and we are excited to welcome everyone back for Community Market at Headwaters beginning Thursday, June 18th! Join us every Thursday evening all summer long from 5–7pm for a fun community gathering featuring local vendors, handmade goods, homegrown produce, food, drinks, and more!

🍕 Slam Dunk Pizza will be there as usual serving up dinner, and Headwaters will be open for drinks!

🍺 For our kickoff evening, we will also be hosting Pint Night featuring delicious beers from Hare in the Forest Brewing!

If you are a vendor planning to attend and would like us to help advertise your booth ahead of time, please reach out! We would love to help spread the word about your handmade or homegrown goods.
