Crane in the time of COVID: Six Crane School faculty and professional staff spent the weekend taking three big red vans to different parts of NY State to delivery instruments (as well as some USB mics and roll-up keyboards) to students studying remotely this semester. The instruments were primarily for music education techniques courses - from double basses to clarinets to trombones..In all, over 40 students picked up over 60 instruments, on loan for the semester in much same way they are for the students who are here in Potsdam. Many thanks to Marie-Γlaine Gagnon (pictured below, with a student) and Michael Vitalino, who drove to Syracuse and Binghamton; Chuck Guy and Matthew Gatti, who covered Hudson Valley and the Albany area; and Evan Campbell and Miles DeCastro, who served NYC and Long Island. And a very special thank you to Miles DeCastro who, as Crane's instrument technician, had to organize, pack, and oversee the whole endeavor.
