Be safe.

Atascosa County is currently under a Burn Ban status beginning yesterday, August 11, 2025. Yesterday the Commissioners Court unanimously approved the BURN BAN. The ban will run for a period of 60 days (October 10, 2025) or until the Fire Marshal ends said order.

This means there is NO OPEN BURNING. If found in violation you can be cited by any duly commissioned peace officer. This is a Class C misdemeanor and comes with a hefty $500 fine.

Agricultural exemptions can be made after contacting the Fire Marshals office at 830-769-2029.

NO OTHER FORM OF BURNING IS ALLOWED.

Thank you.
