Some people volunteer their time. Others bring their heart, their voice, and an unwavering determination to make sure a child knows they are not alone.

Today we’re shining our Volunteer Spotlight on Tristian McCool, Advocate Supervisor, whose passion for advocacy comes from knowing firsthand how powerful it can be to have someone willing to speak up for you.

Tristian said it beautifully: she hopes to be “a light in a dark place.” ❤️

That is what CASA is about—ordinary people choosing to show up, speak up, and become a consistent presence in the life of a child whose world has been turned upside down.

You don’t have to have all the answers. You don’t have to be a lawyer or social worker. You simply need the willingness to learn, the commitment to show up, and the courage to speak up for a child’s best interests.

We’re incredibly grateful for the volunteers, supporters, community partners, and friends who have been part of the San Bois CASA story.

DID YOU KNOW? 💡

The CASA movement began in 1977, when Seattle Superior Court Judge David Soukup became concerned about making life-changing decisions for children without having enough information about their individual circumstances.

His idea was simple but powerful: train community volunteers to advocate for the best interests of children in court.

That idea grew into the CASA movement we know today.

Nearly 50 years later, that original belief remains at the heart of what we do:

Every child deserves someone whose job is simply to advocate for them. ❤️💙

🦸‍♀️ CALLING ALL SUPERHEROES! 🦸‍♂️

San Bois CASA’s 5th Annual CASA Superhero Run is coming to McAlester on Saturday, October 24!

Whether you run, walk, bring the family, or show up dressed as the superhero we all know you secretly are, we want YOU there. ❤️💙

Every step helps support the mission of CASA and reminds children in foster care that there are people in their community willing to show up, stand beside them, and advocate for their best interests.

🏃 1-Mile Fun Run — 9:00 AM
🏃‍♀️ 5K Run/Walk — 9:30 AM
