Our club meets on the first and third Wednesdays of each month, at 12:00pm at The Highlands Golf Club and Grill in beautiful Post Falls Idaho. The world's first service club, the Rotary Club of Chicago, Illinois, USA, was formed on 23 February 1905 by Paul P. Harris, an attorney who wished to recapture in a professional club the same friendly spirit he had felt in the small towns of his youth. The name "Rotary" derived from the early practice of rotating meetings among members' offices.Rotary's popularity spread throughout the United States in the decade that followed; clubs were chartered from San Francisco to New York. By 1921, Rotary clubs had been formed on six continents, and the organization adopted the name Rotary International a year later.

Huge shout out to Midtown Deli outside of Corby’s- they offered up bottled water and warm fresh chocolate chip and maple cookies. Go show them love if you can. Their menu looks delish!

Christi is wearing Jerry Sinn’s old hat. His Rotary service spirit was with us while the rain held off for us.

We are saddened to share the loss of Shirley Bade, a dedicated member of Rotary since 1993. Shirley was one of the first female Rotarians after Rotary opened up membership to women. She started her Rotary dedication in Orofino WA.

Shirley built an impressive career as both a CPA and an attorney, bringing knowledge, integrity, and professionalism to everything she did. Beyond her professional accomplishments, she will be remembered for her commitment to service and her love for being part of the Rotary community.

Her presence, contributions, and spirit will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Yesterday was a great day to be a Post Falls Rotarian!

We kicked things off with a wonderful presentation from Vi Conrad, who shared about the incredible work Turkeys and More does to support families across Kootenai County. If you’re not familiar with their mission, I encourage you to learn more about the impact they’re making in our community: https://turkeysandmore.org/

One of the meaningful traditions we’ve started for new members is giving them the opportunity to direct $200 to a charity of their choice. It’s a small way to immediately empower our members to give back to causes that matter to them.

Yesterday we had the privilege of delivering three donations throughout the community. We presented one to Elevate Academy another to Newby-ginnings of North Idaho, Inc., and made our annual $1,000 contribution to the 3rd Avenue Marketplace.

Moments like these are a great reminder of what Rotary is all about—neighbors helping neighbors and strengthening the community we all call home.

Jaelyn Nordstrom (left) is the Vice President and Marketing Director for KCYP and Treasury Management Officer at bankcda. She is local to the Coeur d’Alene area and enjoys exploring the outdoors with her husband and doodle. Although she has no bartending experience, tequila was her best friend in college which makes her a perfect celebrity bartender for agave 2026! Let's get tipsy!

Sara Pence (right) is the director of events for KCYP and works in the loan administration department at Numerica Credit Union. With a passion for organizing and coordinating events, Sara brings a creative touch to her professional life. When she's not at work, you can find her enjoying summer drinks on the patio or honing her limited bartending skills.
