Prudence Island Volunteer Fire Department

Prudence Island Volunteer Fire Department PIVFD is an all volunteer fire department located on Prudence Island in the Narragansett Bay of RI

Today, we pause to remember and honor the brave men and women of the United States Armed Forces who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our nation. Their courage, dedication, and selfless commitment to protecting our freedoms will never be forgotten.

On this Memorial Day, the members of the Prudence Island Volunteer Fire Department extend our deepest gratitude to our fallen heroes and their families. Please take a moment today to reflect, remember, and honor those who gave everything for our country.

🇺🇸 We remember. We honor. We will never forget. 🇺🇸

Prudence Island dug out together.

Following the Blizzard of ’26, we want to recognize the commitment and hard work across our island community.

Thank you to the members of the Prudence Island Volunteer Fire Department who stood ready to respond at a moment’s notice. Your dedication to protecting our residents, even in severe conditions, does not go unnoticed.

We also extend our appreciation to the DPW, plow drivers, heavy equipment operators, and the many residents who picked up shovels and cleared paths for neighbors. Every effort mattered. Every cleared driveway, road, and walkway improved access and safety.

This is what community resilience looks like.
