Rest in Peace Brother

FDNY Commissioner Daniel Nigro announced the line-of-duty death of Lt. Gordon Ambelas in Brooklyn. Lt. Ambelas sustained an injury while battling a blaze at a Brooklyn public-housing high rise.

A fire department spokesman reported he was taken Saturday night to Woodhull Medical Center in serious condtion. He has since died from his injuries.

The two-alarm fire broke out around 9:30 p.m. in an apartment on the 17th floor of a 21-floor building on 75 Wilson Street in Williamsburg, owned by the New York City Housing Authority.
