Eagle Scout candidate recently Eryn Flechtner completed her service project, building and installing five Mason Bee habitats at Paradise Creek Nature Park. She and her fellow scouts planted native pollinator plants throughout several of our gardens. 🌱🐝
Why this is such a win for our environment:
🐝 Mason bees are native to North America and among the most efficient pollinators in our region.
🐝They’re named for their unique habit of using mud and other “masonry” materials to build their nests.
🐝They naturally seek out cracks in stones, hollow stems, and small dark cavities—and well‑designed habitats give them safe, reliable places to raise the next generation.
🐝Native plants provide the pollen and nectar these bees evolved alongside, strengthening the entire ecosystem.
