Congratulations to ME3 Forrest Thompson who was recently recognized for being an excellent shipmate!

ME3 Thompson is one of the primary boarding officers onboard CGC Escanaba; he runs our law enforcement program and regularly conducts training with the crew. He displays exceptional work ethic and routinely goes out of his way to help others.

Congratulations to SN Valentino Collazo who was recently awarded Sailor of the Quarter! SOQ is a program onboard that is used to recognize enlisted members whose accomplishments and performance are particularly noteworthy.

SN Collazo is commended for his incredible work ethic and positive attitude. As lead Seamen, SN Collazo works hard to ensure that Deck Department is squared away, while always lending a helping hand to anyone in need. Thank you for your consistent hard work and dedication SN Collazo!

Aaaanddd we’re back!

We spent 51 days patrolling the Caribbean in support of Operation Vigilant Sentry. Our crew conducted migrant interdiction while working with multiple Coast Guard and joint interagency assets to detect, deter and intercept unsafe and illegal maritime ventures.

It’s great to be back home and be reunited with loved ones❤️

Happy Week 3 Black History Month Escanaba fam!

Today we highlight Culinary Specialist 3rd Class Keievan Young from Augusta, Georgia. He’s been in the Coast Guard for 2 years.

What does Black History Month mean to you?
“This month is a time for showcasing and celebrating African Americans that serve in our service and all of the amazing accomplishments that they do. I think it’s important to celebrate BHM because it shows what has been done and what things can be accomplished as a Black Coast Guardsman.”

Thanks for sharing CS3 Young!
