Leadership Portsmouth

Leadership Portsmouth Leadership Portsmouth is a year-long leadership development course coordinated by the Portsmouth Area Chamber of Commerce and the city of Portsmouth.

Leadership Portsmouth is a community educational program established in 1990 to help build and enhance the community of Portsmouth by developing the talents, tapping the energies, and harnessing the resources of our region's present and future leaders. Leadership Portsmouth recognizes that the economic health of our community is linked to the vitality of Portsmouth and to the opportunities afforded all its citizens. Leadership enables and helps forge new collaborative efforts that have a lasting and positive impact on their personal and professional lives and on our community. Each year a new class of young professionals have the opportunity to meet, network with and learn from leaders in local government, business, and community organizations. Each class also leaves its own mark on the community through the completion of a community-based project intended to benefit the community. Since 1990 Leadership Portsmouth has graduated 375 new leaders; many of whom continue to live, work and lead right hear in Portsmouth.

The old sign is coming down—and it’s more than just a cleanup, it’s a symbol of progress and pride!
Hats off to the Wheelersburg Community Partnership for taking pride in our community and pushing for positive change. When people care, things happen—and this is just one more example of the great things this group continues to do for our area.

The Old sign is coming down. Maybe we can clean this corner up! Kudo’s to the Wheelersburg Community Partnership group for being so instrumental in cleaning up our Community and encouraging this sign to be gone.

The Portsmouth Wind Symphony is accepting resumes for the position of Interim Music Director/Conductor. This position will initially be filled as an interim for the Fall concert only at this point and may, or may not, be extended for a longer interim term. Come along with the Portsmouth Wind Symphony tonight, July 4th, 2024, as we celebrate our great nation's Independence and prepare for a grand old time with Grammy nominated Steve Free Band performing their unique musical Americana and Appalachian Folk music at 5:30 pm with the Portsmouth Wind Symphony taking the stage at 7:00 pm with pop music from throughout the 70s and 80s as well as more traditional marches and patriotic tunes that'll have your toes tapping and your hands clapping. We hope you and your families will join us on this day of celebration of our American freedoms before you make your way down to Spartan Municipal Stadium, weather permitting, for the annual Fireworks Extravaganza!
