Building Safer Responses Through CIT Training

When compassion meets preparation, communities are stronger. Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) training equips first responders and community partners with the skills to recognize mental health crises, de-escalate challenging situations, and connect individuals with the resources they need. Together, we're fostering safer interactions, reducing stigma, and strengthening relationships between emergency responders and the communities they serve.

📅 Date: September 22nd, 23rd, 29th, and 30th, 2026
🕒 Time: 8:00am - 5:00pm each day
📍 Location: Shawnee Family Health Center - 901 Washington St. Portsmouth, Ohio

ASCEND Counseling and Recovery Services is hosting their 4th Annual Back 2 School Bash on Thursday, July 31, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Tracy Park in Portsmouth, Ohio.

Families can enjoy:
✏️ Free backpacks and school supplies (child must be present)
💇 Free haircuts for school-age children (17 and under) from 12:00–2:00 p.m.
🌭 Free hot dogs, chips, and drink
