‼ OHIO War Orphan Scholarship 2024 DEADLINE is May 15th‼

The Ohio War Orphan & Severely Disabled Veterans' Children Scholarship Program awards tuition assistance to the children of deceased or severely disabled Ohio veterans who served in the armed forces during a period of declared war or conflict.
The application deadline is May 15th of every year.The deadline for the 2024-2025 academic year is May 15, 2024. A complete application MUST be received or postmarked by May 15th to be considered for the scholarship for the 2024-2025 academic year. Any applications postmarked after May 15, 2024, will be considered for the 2025-2026 academic year. This includes all War Orphans Scholarship reactivation requests.
To receive War Orphans Scholarship benefits, a student must be an Ohio resident and enrolled for full-time undergraduate study and pursuing an associate or bachelor's degree at an eligible Ohio college or university. Applicants must apply between the ages of 16 and 24.

Due to the rising cost of food and fuel expenses, the Scioto County Veterans Service Commission has increased the number of yearly food and gas cards issued from four(4) to five (5) for this year (2022).
Our emergency assistance program is available to eligible Scioto County veterans and widows of veterans for assistance with food and gas expenses on an emergency basis. **NOW HIRING**Temporary** Part-time**File Clerk**$10.00/hr
The Scioto County Veterans Service Office is hiring a file clerk for a temporary, part-time, summer position. Applicants must be high school graduates, veteran preferred (spouse, child, parent of veteran acceptable). Employment start date will be on or after May 31, 2022 and end date will be August 12, 2022. Approx. 20 hours per week (3-5 days per week). Will be required to work at the Office fair booth at the Scioto County Fair in August. If you are a VETERAN receiving medical care from the VA Medical Center in Chillicothe or its Outpatient Clinic in New Boston, please consider attending this meeting!
