Glenfair Neighborhood Association The purpose of GNA is to enhance the livability of our neighborhood. Also, through GNA, residents and other members have input on zoning and development.

GNA strives to inform members of ways to make our neighborhood a better and safer place to live. GNA has been involved in neighborhood cleanup, zoning decisions, land use, traffic control, local park issues and code enforcement.

Most residents of the Pacific Northwest have “massive earthquake” on the list of fears they must wrestle with every night before falling asleep.

The “big one,” a 9.0 earthquake on the Cascadia subduction zone could come at any moment, as The New Yorker reminded us in 2015. But most people living in Oregon didn’t need that graphic story to tell us there could be a really big, devastating earthquake followed by a tsunami now. Or now. Or now.

We grew up knowing that was always a possibility.

But what better way to deal with fear than preparedness?

On Thursday, Oregonians will get a chance to test out how they would deal with the “big one” during The Great Oregon ShakeOut, part of a worldwide earthquake safety effort.

The Portland Marathon takes place tomorrow. The race will affect 20 bus lines that travel through these areas, with some stop closures or buses being rerouted. This includes lines FX2, 4, 44, 8, 9, 12, 15, 16, 17, 19, 20, 24, 35, 40, 54, 70 and 77.

Some MAX trains may hold for runners, but we expect minimal delays on MAX.
