Do you love "Home Alone" as much as these Peacock Lane residents? Look at all the amazing details! Paint cans and battle plans, oh my!

And don't forget, tonight is a Pedestrian-only night, so no vehicles will be allowed on the Lane from 6pm - 11pm. Same for tomorrow (Saturday the 20th). After that, it's back to allowing vehicles.

✨ Parking: Expect a lot of very slow-moving traffic and limited parking on neighboring streets.

Please do NOT park in the Wal-Greens lot; they will tow. Also, don't block neighboring driveways.

We recommend parking 3-4 blocks away and walking to the Lane if you can.

✨Tri-Met: Don't want to drive? Tri-Met has TWO stops that put you practically right on the Lane. The 75 and the 15 lines. Plan your ride here https://trimet.org/home/

A double-dose of Tri-Met fun on the Lane!

And don't forget, the #15 and #75 lines drop you a stone's throw away from the Lane! It's a great alternative to dealing with traffic and having to find parking!

Day 1 of the Lights for 2025 is done, and what a great night it was. The rain took a break, and so folks got to enjoy a dry and unseasonably warm night checking out the lights.

And here are some of this year's new lighting additions.

πŸŽ„πŸŽ„πŸŽ„ Did you know that today is National Christmas Lights Day? πŸŽ„πŸŽ„πŸŽ„

Christmas lights have been an American tradition since 1880. Before that, people decorated their homes with candles, either placed in windows or carefully balanced on Christmas trees. It was Thomas Edison who first came up with the idea of stringing electric lights together for decoration, but he only used them to light up his lab.

In 1882 his associate Edward H. Johnson became the first to hang them on a Christmas tree. It wasn’t until 1895, when President Grover Cleveland lit the White House tree with electric lights, that the practice gained widespread popularity.

And Peacock Lane will be lighting up starting December 15.

Schedule:
** Dec 15-31, 6pm-11pm each day

** Pedestrian only nights will be Dec 19 and 20th. This way, they'll sync up with with Friday and Saturday that week.

Thank you so much to Portland Fire & Rescue for visiting Peacock Lane on National Night Out! As you can see below, kids of all ages thoroughly enjoyed the visit with the biggest fire truck we'd ever seen! What a great crew - answered questions, donned their gear, let us don some of their gear, and let us explore!

Curious about National Night Out? It happens the first Tuesday of August every year, designed to bring neighbors together and build community with first responders.
