🎉 People power works.

Last week, more than 100 community members packed Albany City Hall, submitted testimony, spoke out, and organized against mass surveillance. Because of that collective action, Albany City Council voted 4-2 to end the city's contract with Flock Safety and keep automated license plate readers offline.

This victory belongs to everyone who showed up, spoke out, and refused to stay silent. Huge thanks to our partners, coalition allies, and every community member who took action.

Big wins for working people across Oregon. 🧡

This election, Oregon WFP-endorsed candidates delivered major victories in Washington County and across the state, proving once again that when we organize year-round, build deep community relationships, and fight alongside working people, we can win.

From city councils to county races to the state legislature, voters showed up for candidates ready to govern with and for the multiracial working class.

These wins didn’t happen by accident. They happened because organizers, volunteers, coalition partners, and everyday people knocked doors, made calls, talked to neighbors, and believed a different kind of politics is possible.

And we’re just getting started.

Next Wednesday, May 27 at 9:30 AM, Portland City Council will vote on the Right to Know Who’s Policing You ordinance led by WFP champion Councilor Sameer Kanal.

This ordinance is about transparency, accountability, and making sure Portlanders know who is policing our communities. With attacks on civil liberties escalating across the country, it’s critical that Portland step up and lead.

We need a strong community presence at City Hall to show councilmembers that Portlanders support transparency and oppose secret policing.
