Friends of RCSD The Rose City Self-Defense program is a vital part of our community.

Since 1979, we have provided FREE empowerment-based self-defense classes and personal safety workshops to people around the Portland metro area.

October class is open!
Class focuses on the specific safety concerns of the Q***r community, including the topics of: Trusting and using your intuition, how bias affects your judgment, establishing and setting boundaries, assertive communication, deescalation
Strategies, the benefits and risks of various escape options, negotiating consent, healthy/unhealthy relationships, signs of abusive relationships, as well as many physical self-defense strikes and escapes.
Classes are open to ages 13 and above. Young people under 16 need to be accompanied by a participating adult.
