We can’t help but be proud of our scholarship students when they share educational milestones and we think you would love a glimpse into their lives and progress as well.

Noora Al Manea, a 2021 scholarship recipient, is pursuing her masters in Architecture at Portland State University. Noora shared with us the pinup from her first graduate studio final. This term Noora designed a children’s museum. Her concept focuses on how children move, learn, and explore—using playfulness and the transformation of space as core design drivers.

In 2021, Noora shared with us in her scholarship application: “Architecture is a powerful art form that adds meaning to our existence, one that will continue to tell new stories and create deeper meanings for as long as life exists. Therefore, I want to be a leader in building the world for future generations and leaving a new story behind that can someday be remembered and retold.”

We’re so excited to see where Noora goes next in pursuing that dream.

On this we’d like to thank you all for your generous support in 2025, and highlight a fundraising initiative with Oregon Safeway Albertsons that made a significant impact on our student leaders.

This summer and early fall, patrons of Oregon Safeway and Albertsons had an opportunity to support local student leaders at the register through Huddle Up for Oregon. Proven to be an overwhelming success, the initiative raised $282,541.99 through in-store pin pad donations and participating brand purchases! A portion of sales from wines and beers tagged with Harrington Family Foundation Huddle Up in-store were directed toward empowering the next generation of Oregon leaders, accounting for almost 1/3 of the total money raised! We are so grateful for the local support of 27 wine and beer brands who chose to invest in our student leaders (see slide 10).

The 2025 Huddle Up for Oregon initiative succeeded in fully endowing two scholarships in perpetuity(!) which is a reminder of how quickly each dollar of support adds up for our students. Your gift provides vital resources to positively impact the lives of our students and their ability to succeed with the support of their community network — thank you again. 💚

If you didn't have a chance to read our press release in December, we have the honor of awarding FIVE new scholarship recipients moving forward at $25,000 per student in perpetuity. That's a $5,000 increase per student!

Please spread the word with any Oregon high school senior planning to stay in-state for college or trade school, are emerging leaders in their community, and have financial need!
