You're invited to a hybrid in-person and online presentation with Sharon Selvaggio from the Xerces Society, hosted by Bee City USA – Asheville, NC and the Asheville Botanical Garden on June 2 at 3:00 – 4:30 PM PDT / 4:00 – 5:30 PM MDT / 5:00 – 6:30 PM CDT / 6:00 – 7:30 PM EDT. You are welcome to join the webinar or, if you are nearby, attend in-person as long as seats are available.

Tiny, inconspicuous, and underappreciated species hold our world together. Sharon Selvaggio with the Xerces Society will discuss why pesticides in homes, gardens, agriculture, and natural areas are a leading threat to bees, butterflies, and other insects. But there is much to be hopeful about! She’ll also share inspiring examples and practical resources for those ready to take action in their gardens, neighborhoods, towns, campuses, and states.

This webinar will be recorded and available on the Xerces Society YouTube channel on the Bee City USA Playlist and emailed to those who register. Closed Captioning will be available during this webinar.

If you want to attend in-person, we suggest registering for both the in-person and webinar options since capacity is only 40 people. Everyone who registers for the webinar will receive a recording afterwards.

Happy World Bee Day! Pollinators provide us with 1 in 3 bites of food we eat. Honey bees tend to get most of the credit, but there are many more pollinators feeding us; there are over 3,600 species in the USA alone.

We can thank our native bees for blueberries, tomatoes, squash, and many more of our favorite foods. Native bee species that support our food systems include bumble bees, alfalfa leafcutter bees, blueberry bees, squash bees, orchard bees, and *so* many more. Thanks bees!
