Master Recycler Program

Master Recycler Program Bridging the gap between awareness and action by motivating people to consume sustainably in their homes and at work.

Master Recyclers take an eight-week course on the latest information on thoughtful consumption and recycling. They then share this information to their neighbors in Multnomah, Clackamas and Washington county. There are more then 1,230 Master Recyclers, volunteering more than 35,000 hours.

Learn from the experts. Make a difference. ¡Bienvenidos a los voluntarios bilingües!

Take a seven-week course on the latest information on repair, reuse, compost, toxics, food waste, equity, climate- and of course recycling. Then, volunteer 30 hours to inspire action in your community.

WHAT: 7-week course and 30-hour volunteer program.
WHEN: Seven Wednesdays at 6:00 - 9:00 p.m. Jan 13, 20, 27, Feb 3, 10, 17, 24 plus two Saturdays 8:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. Jan 30 and Feb 13.
WHERE: Washington Street Conference Center, 102 SW Washington St., HIllsboro

Anusha has volunteered at the Gladstone Community Festival, the Sabin CDC Summer Block Party, and the Milwaukie Farmers Market twice. She also attended the tour of the Recycle On Waste Audit center. Layla completed most of her hours volunteering at Sabin CDC events in NE Portland, including their Free Market and Exchange event and Play Streets event. She’s also helped them set up a scrap metal recycling program, and volunteered at the Milwaukie Farmers Market. Thank you, Layla, for all your amazing work!
