Our very own Brandy Zaklan finally ( after a government shut-down delayed it 6 months) was honored for almost 30 years of service as she left what was the 116th. We are so proud of her service. Congratulations, Brandy and best wishes always.

It is with great sadness that I have to post the loss of Colonel Alan Stoller's beloved wife, Gwen. She was a special woman. From the Columbian website:

Gwen L. Stoller, an 86-year-old from Camas, passed away on January 6, 2026. Her passing was noted in the death notices for January 10, 2026, with arrangements handled by Straub's Funeral Home and Cremation Services. This notice reflects the community's acknowledgment of her life and legacy.

Congratulations to Colonel Robert Baugh on his retirement after over 40 years of service.

The 272CCS just produced another Chief Master Sergeant. I was proud to be there with CMS Ulana Cole and watch our own Christine Longfield celebrate her promotion to Chief! Great job, Chief Longfield!

This morning, as I was making this breakfast for the work crew at our home, I was struck with the memory of making them during UTA's for our fundraisers. Still miss being part of that team.

Wishing you all a Happy New Year! Consuelo

Meet Team 8!

Thunderbird 8: Maj. Jeffrey “Simmer” Downie

Dedicated Crew Chiefs:
SSgt Joshua Seda
SSgt Austin Guerra

Assistant Dedicated Crew Chiefs:
SSgt Kenneth Colon
SSgt Keyshawn Williams

Our 8-load team is responsible for the jet flown by Thunderbird 8, our advance pilot and narrator. Maj. Downie, accompanied by one of his dedicated crew chiefs, will arrive one day early for each show and with only two people, they ensure everything is prepared for the team’s arrival the following day! This also includes conducting a site survey and recording videos to prepare Thunderbird 1 for the airfield he'll be flying into.

This crew also has the important job of maintaining the jet used for many of our hometown hero, media, and photo chase flights!
