The Community for Positive Aging

The Community for Positive Aging The Next Chapter of the Hollywood Senior Center. Connecting our community to resources since 1973.

The Community for Positive Aging is a 501c3 not-for-profit, age-positive hub that offers a multitude of no-cost donation-based services, a devoted team enhanced by peer-run programs, and resources that empower you to learn, connect, and grow as you
age. While our services are designed with attention, compassion, and respect for those age 55 and older, we believe that younger and older generations

alike share attitudes and experiences that reflect positive aging, and we’ve created a place where everyone, regardless of who they are, feels part of this community.

This Saturday, we had the pleasure of attending the Urban League's Annual Fashion Show! It was such an incredible afternoon, and such a joy to witness every model who strutted their stuff from ages four to ninety four.

Huge shout out to everyone at for producing such a wonderful event. We can't wait for next year! 👠

When our folks are prepared, our community is stronger! 💪

Earlier this week, Laurel with Multnomah County Health Department's Behavioral Health Division facilitated a naloxone training for CfPA volunteers. Thanks to Laurel's time and extensive knowledge-sharing, 13 of our volunteers can identify the signs of an opioid overdose and are now trained to administer a life-saving remedy.

We want to extend sincere gratitude to our friends with the Multnomah County Older Adult Behavioral Health Team! It was an incredible gift to offer this opportunity to our volunteers!

When was the last time you made a new friend?

Last Friday, we hosted our first ever "Speed Friending" event, and it did not disappoint! This is one of many ways CfPA helps create opportunities for older adults to connect, build relationships, and reduce isolation. It was a joy to watch new connections form that will hopefully grow into lasting friendships 💛

Thank you to all who came and participated in this chance to connect with new people. We hope that you left feeling less like a stranger and more like a friend!

Check out our full calendar of events and consider joining the fun! https://www.communityfpa.org/events-calendar
