🏆 Congratulations to Team 7, your Back-to-Back Portland Parks & Recreation's 2026 Spring Coed Slowpitch Softball Champions!

Team 7 capped off a perfect 10-0 season this past Sunday with a hard-fought 9-8 victory over Hot Shots, who finished an impressive 8-2 on the year. Hot Shots' only two losses came at the hands of Team 7 in the final two weeks.

Since 2023, Team 7 has been:
🥎 Spring Champions in 2023, 2025, and 2026
🥎 Spring Runner-Up in 2024
🥎 Fall Champions in 2024 and 2025

With another championship added to their resume, Team 7 will head into the fall season as the team to beat 🥇

Elementary tennis is almost ready to serve up summer fun!

Summer tennis is right around the corner at the PHS Tennis Courts, and we are getting ready for a fun season of learning, playing, and staying active.

🎾 1st–5th Grade Registration Deadline: June 8 is just days away. Do not miss your chance to sign up for a great summer experience designed for all skill levels.

🎾 6th–12th Grade Deadline: June 15 is still open, but space is limited.
Whether your child is brand new to tennis or already loves the game, this is a great way to build skills and have fun all summer long.

ANNUAL WATER QUALITY REPORT:

To ensure the safety of public drinking water, the State of Michigan and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) require routine testing and reporting. Water quality reports are published each year using data collected during the previous calendar year. The City of Portland met all testing and reporting requirements for the 2025 reporting period.

The Annual Water Quality Report provides an overview of where the City’s water comes from, what it contains, and how it compares to state and federal drinking water standards. The report is updated annually and can be found at: https://www.portland-michigan.org/317/Water-Department

We’re gearing up for a fun-filled summer at the PHS Tennis Courts, and there’s still time to get your child registered!

Whether your athlete is brand new to tennis or looking to sharpen their skills, our program is designed for all skill levels and focuses on fun, fundamentals, and staying active all summer long.

STREET REPAIR NOTICE:

North Lincoln St. (the dead-end cul-de-sac by the Post Office) will be resurfaced this week. The contractor will be on site today Thursday, May 28, 2026, for milling and prep work, so intermittent delays and temporary closures are possible.

Paving is scheduled for tomorrow, Friday, May 29, 2026, and the dead end will be closed during paving operations and while the asphalt cools. The road is expected to reopen around 3:00 p.m.

Whether your child is picking up a racket for the first time or looking to improve their skills, our summer tennis program is a great way to stay active, build confidence, and have fun this summer!

🎾 1st–5th Grade & 6th–12th Grade divisions
