To all my Facebook Friend:
I've been away from Facebook for quite some time. There are sever reasons.
1. Joan has had a heart attack and I've devoted my almost full time to help her with her recovery.
2. Following Joan's heart attack her cardiologist instructed her to change our retirement residence from independent living to assisted living.
3. Our resident at that time was Russellville Park Retirement Home. They do have assisted living but it was beyond our means ($8,000 plus per month). The management at the facility attempted at least two ways we know of from moving\. Corporate would not cooperate. And so, now an additional demand on or time - finding another place to live. What an ordeal. We finally found one that we could afford. The facility we were able to afford is many steps below the quality of Russellville Park. As soon as we moved in Joan had two seperate events with he heart. And so now we were back on the medical treatment circuit. While not tending to household chores I found time to begin writing a second book (the manuscript is about finished). Or so I thought. Our published read a draft of the manuscript and suggested the book be split into two volumes: one for the general public and the other for use by college and university criminal justice programs. And then I threw myself a curve ball (and I had a good one). I decided to consider the manuscript becoming a trilogy. The third volume being about an employee work scheduling system. I developed while I was at Rahway. Once I retired I wrote a software package automating my manual system. Joan and I were fortunate because the system supported by the automated package was the first of its kind in the corrections industry. That made it easy to decide to create a corporation and take the show on the road. We spent twenty + years marketing, installing, training and supporting for the 20+ state and county corrections systems. The system was very popular. Testimony to that fact is the New Mexico Department of Corrections was a client for 20+ years. Another of several examples is the City and County of Denver County Jails. They were a client for more that 11 years. And then finally retirement. I still have the source code for the automated system and have spent a little time recently trying to determine how to use source code written in the 80s now in the 20s. The last piece of news is I have two wonderful women who help make up my manuscript development team. One is a retired attorney and the other a former bookstore owner and editor. We met them when we resided at the Russellville Park Retreat Community. Without them there would not be a manauscript to considering becoming a trilogy. In closing I thought I should provide the name of the book: "The Wardens Way: Leading Reform from the Inside Out..
May God bless all of our Facebook friends.
