Youth Organized and United to Help to motivate, inspire and empower youth, family and educators to dismantle the school to prison
(1)

Y.O.U.th is a 501(c)3 non profit that works to disrupt and dismantle the school to prison pipeline epidemic through literacy awareness, parent advocacy and challenging existing structures. Our first summit began in 2007 in response to the murder of DaVonte Lightfoot. The summit provided an atmosphere for youth and adults to experience a high level of reasoning and edutainment while also exploring

the elements of Hip Hop which has ancient roots and connections to the so-called African Diaspora. The Summit has featured small business vendors and community based non-profits to provide a wealth of resources and information for all participants. Our keynote speakers have been Professor Griff of Public Enemy, Jasiri X, and Rob Ingram (May Allah Be Pleased with Him).

S.E.E.D.S. of Y.O.U.TH
(Sowing, Excellence, Education, Development & Sustainability)

S.E.E.D.S. of Y.O.U.TH is an environmental education, food justice, and youth leadership initiative that empowers young people to cultivate knowledge, confidence, and community through hands-on learning experiences. Rooted in the belief that every young person has the potential to grow and thrive when given the right opportunities, S.E.E.D.S. provides youth with meaningful experiences that connect education, environmental stewardship, and personal development.

Through community gardening, sustainability projects, and experiential learning activities, participants gain practical skills in food production, composting, soil health, water conservation, and environmental responsibility. Youth learn where food comes from, how healthy ecosystems support strong communities, and how sustainable practices can improve both individual and community well-being.

S.E.E.D.S. also introduces participants to emerging opportunities in green jobs, agriculture, environmental science, urban farming, and sustainability-focused careers. Through partnerships with community organizations, environmental professionals, and local growers, youth explore career pathways while developing leadership, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.

Beyond environmental education, S.E.E.D.S. of Y.O.U.TH addresses food insecurity by helping grow fresh produce for community distribution and educational purposes. The program reinforces the values of service, stewardship, and collective responsibility while encouraging youth to become leaders who create positive change in their neighborhoods.

By Sowing Excellence, Education, Development & Sustainability, Y.O.U.TH is cultivating the next generation of environmentally conscious leaders who are equipped to build healthier communities, stronger food systems, and a more sustainable future for all.
