The mission of the Consulate is to promote cultural, economic, and educational links between the Republic of Moldova and the State of Oregon. In his capacity as Honorary Consul, Mark B. Williams seeks to increase Moldova’s visibility and presence in Oregon and the Pacific Northwest region of the United States. Williams is Vice President for Campus Development at Oregon Health & Science University

(OHSU) in Portland, Oregon. OHSU is Oregon’s only academic medical health center, serving the State of Oregon, Southwest Washington, and beyond. At OHSU Mark is responsible for all campus planning, design and construction activities, and real estate transactions. Mark was also the founding Chief Operating Officer for the Vaccine and Gene Therapy Institute of Florida, an OHSU-affiliated research institute focusing on human immunology. Mark has also served as Chief Operating Officer for Metro, the Portland, Oregon area regional government, and as General Manager for MERC, Portland’s public spectator facility management organization. In addition to his work at OHSU, Mark also serves as a Tribal Court Judge for the Confederated Tribes of Siletz Indians in Siletz, Oregon. Mark is an attorney with experience in business transactions, government law, civil litigation, and employment law. He earned his Bachelor’s degree from Rutgers University and his law degree from the University of Oregon.
