The Youth Services Division (YSD) is a group of individuals who come from various colorful backgrounds, yet work together as a team to create an environment that serves youth and overall community very well. The number one goal is to keep our children and community safe by helping to build an environment where people feel safe while also emphasizing and prioritizing the importance of education to

youth. The members of YSD develop sustainable partnerships and work to use the best and most effective and collaborative strategies available to focus on youth. Their ultimate goal is to work with their educational partners to create an environment where children can thrive. The Youth Services Division consists of the Crisis Response Team (CRT), Runaway Juvenile Unit, G.R.E.A.T. Program (Local and National), School Resource Officer Unit (SRO’S), Portland Police Bureau Cadet and Reserve Program and an assigned Intervention and Resource Connection Specialist from the Juvenile Services Division’s Department of Community Justice.
