We had another successful graduation at Blanchet Farm! After regaining sobriety and finding employment, Mitch reached another major milestone when he secured a subsidized apartment after a long wait. Friends from the farm helped him move into his new home, with furniture provided by our friends at MacHub of McMinnville, OR. We’re so happy to see Mitch take this next step!

Our friend James was excited to receive a Blanchet House shirt. He's a daily breakfast guest who shared with our peer staff member, Duke, "The highlight of my day is saying hi to you every morning." We serve breakfast Mon-Sat from 6:30-7:30 a.m. Guests can expect donuts, oatmeal, an egg, and fruit.

Do we really need to know why someone is hungry before we feed them?

As a free café, we’re asked if we worry about being taken advantage of. Of course, we want to know our guests’ stories and understand how we might help. But no one should have to prove their need, share a diagnosis, or explain an addiction before they can eat.

They are hungry. We have food. We serve them.

For many of our guests, Blanchet House is more than a place to get a meal. It’s a place where they are welcomed, seen, and heard. A place where someone cares what happens to them.

Dignity doesn’t require an explanation.
