Peninsula PTA

Peninsula PTA The Peninsula PTA is caregivers community members and staff, working together to support our school. If you have a student here, you’re already part of the PTA!

Welcome to Peninsula in North Portland! The neighborhood school of Kenton. We welcome current families, alumni, neighbors and other school groups to our page. In 2016 we changed from a K-8 to a K-5. In 2015 we welcomed a new Principal. In 2021 we lost our new Principal and welcomed and Interim Principal. In 2021 we partnered with PPS and funded Peninsulas new Playground !

Next year 1st and 2nd graders will learn together in multi-grade classrooms, and our successful 4th/5th grade blend will continue for another year! 🎉

📚 Multi-grade classrooms bring students of different developmental stages together, creating opportunities for peer mentoring, leadership, collaboration, and greater independence.

🤔 What questions do you have about multi-grade classrooms and how they’ll work at Peninsula? Drop them in the comments—we’d love to hear from you!

Get your 2025–26 Peninsula Panther Yearbooks!

Every student will receive a yearbook during Field Day, regardless of purchase. If you’re able, we invite families to purchase a yearbook in the shop to help offset printing costs — and, if it’s within your means, consider purchasing an extra copy to help support another student (link in bio).

Community support helps make it possible for every Panther to head into summer with this special keepsake. 🐾

Special Guest: Rashelle Chase-Miller

Join us at our final PTA meeting of the year for a community conversation with Rashelle Chase-Miller — PPS Board Member, PPS alum, parent, educator, and longtime advocate for literacy and equitable access for all students.

With the PPS rightsizing vote expected in late Fall 2026, this is an important opportunity to hear directly from a board member and engage in thoughtful discussion about the future of our schools.

We’ll also approve the preliminary 2026–27 budget and hold VP elections. Join virtually on our website (link in bio).

And thank you to everyone who attended the PPS Rightsizing Engagement Sessions. Learn more at the Rightsize PPS webpage.
