We at Joan's Place are enjoying the children in our care and all their antics. Having mostly 3-4 year olds is very rewarding as we help them prepare for preK and K. Although having a 10 month old is also rewarding as she learns something new every day.

Joan's Place has begun it's final school year of operation. We will be closing in late summer of 2026.

This is my favorite time of year, with all the flowers and trees coming to life. The children love that outdoor time means less clothes to put on and more time in the play yard.

We at Joan's Place have had a great winter. Very few illnesses and we like it like that. Preparing for a couple of workshops to get our trainings done for the year. And it's always good to see other providers at these events. Still going strong since March 1985. Wow!! That's 40 years and a whole lot of grown up kids.

Joan's Place is looking to add one or two three- to four-year-olds to our group. Those that aren't quite old enough for pre K but need more play and prep time. We are located in the Washington Ave. area of Deering near Canco Rd. in Portland. Hours are 7 to 5:30 Monday thru Friday.

We have a young lady turning 4 in October and she could use another playmate in her age group as our two oldest boys are graduating to PreK and K. If anyone knows of someone please have them contact us.

We have applied for a renewal on our childcare license, which will keep us active until Oct. of 2026 should we decide to continue that long. We love our work and all our children., past and present.
