Alano Club of Portland

Alano Club of Portland A welcome, compassionate and accessible recovery center!

The Alano Club of Portland has been a leading source of recovery support in our community for 60 years and counting. In addition to over 100 weekly mutual aid support meetings, the Alano Club offers other recovery resources, like weekly recovery yoga and mindful meditation classes, monthly seminars on topics like brain chemistry and addiction, relationships in recovery, and regular workshops on to

pics ranging from recovery advocacy to mindful-based relapse prevention. The Alano Club also hosts large-scale sober social events, like our Recovery Art Walk, Recovery Talent Show and holiday community dinners. What We Do:
By owning and operating a beautiful, historic community center that hosts the largest and most diverse offering of mutual-aid support meetings and recovery services in Oregon, the Alano Club of Portland is able to bring healing, hope and solutions to more than 10,000 visitors each month. There’s no other recovery support center of its kind in the area, where recovering individuals can go—free of charge—to receive the level of life-long support they need in their journey to addiction recovery. Ours is a safe, loving and inviting home for more than 100 weekly recovery support meetings, recovery seminars and workshops, yoga and meditation classes, sobriety-based social events, information and referral services for treatment resources, and holiday celebrations for the recovery community. Who We Help
We serve thousands of recovering men, women and families across 20 distinct mutual aid programs, including Alcoholics Anonymous, Al-Anon family groups, Gamblers Anonymous, Food Addicts Anonymous, Wellbriety, Refuge Recovery and nearly everything in between!

Join us this Founders’ Day on June 10th for fellowship and dinner in the Alano Club parking lot, followed by a screening of Bill W: Conscious Contact (dir. Hanlon, 2025) in the loft.

Bill W: Conscious Contact (dir. Hanlon, 2025) is a film biography documenting the “spiritual excavation” of Bill Wilson, the founding father of AA and 12-Step programs. Through rare archival footage and close personal interviews, the film ”[explores] how one man’s relentless search for conscious contact transformed millions of lives, and continues to inspire seekers around the world.” For more information about the film and its creators, go to their website: https://billwconsciouscontact.com/film.

Our monthly Career Development workshop led by Charli Taylor starts this Thursday, May 21st in the Cafe.

The Career Development workshop series is focused on resume-creating that goes beyond bullet points. While we will cover how to build a resume that stands out, the heart of this workshop is a deep-dive into looking at what you bring to the table, how you move the needle for others and ways in which you’re excited to grow in your next career chapter.

Like all of our programming, this series is FREE and open to anyone in or seeking recovery from substance use and/or mental health disorders! For more information or to register, visit the link in our bio or portlandalano.org/events

We may be in the final hours of our Membership Drive, but you can still make an impact on Alano’s continued legacy!

When you become a monthly donor, you are investing in Alano’s future: our continued ability to serve over 10,000 individuals a month through a variety of FREE recovery programs.

Individuals like Buster and Rhonda’s late father, community members whose recovery took shape inside the Alano Club.

If you believe in the work we’ve done and continue to do, then please help protect Alano’s ability to not only meet the needs of our community members today but continue in the future.

Join our Sustaining Circle, Alano’s group of our most loyal supporters, at the link in our bio.
