We had a lot to celebrate at our last Governing Board Meeting of the 26-27 School Year!
π€ Kiwanis Club of Porterville Bert Martinez and the Kiwanis Club were recognized for their longstanding partnership with PUSD's Migrant Program, providing consistent donations of supplies, clothing, and food to ensure migrant families and their children feel seen and supported.
π Monache High School SkillsUSA Annalise Garay earned gold in technical design and Alyssa Nunez earned silver in cabinet making at the state SkillsUSA competition. Nunez advances to nationals in Atlanta, missing her own graduation to represent PUSD and the State of California.
π Harmony Magnet Academy Jeromy Blackwell was named 2026 High School Educator of the Year, awarded through a partnership between the Tulare County Office of Education and the Central California Chinese Cultural Center.
π Education Impact Award Evelina Lara, Claudia Medrano, Nate Crocker, Georgina Torres, and Valerie Lopez were selected as 5 of only 21 honorees statewide through the Student Success Coach Learning Network, nominated by the AmeriCorps members who serve alongside them.
π Aspiring Administrators Academy Jennifer Vela, Marissa Martinez, Anthony Leyva, Erica Gutierrez, and Christopher Alcantar completed PUSD's year-long leadership development program, participating in book studies, shadowing experiences, and organizing the district's spring art show.
π§‘ Early Education Susana Ceballos, Christina Morales, and Brenda Prado-Flores were recognized for their dedication, flexibility, and care for students across PUSD's early education programs.
π½οΈ Nutrition Services β Employees of the Month Ten Nutrition Services employees were honored for going above and beyond this school year: Patricia Hubbard, Yudith Navarro, Arlen Woods, Gale Peterson, Amanda Berrones, Corrina Sledge, Candelario Duran, Monica Garcia, Kathleen Cemo, and Neil Perkins.
