State Route 190 Construction Stage Change
Starting Tuesday in Tulare County

The Department of Transportation (Caltrans), in cooperation withCal Valley Construction, announces the next stage of construction for the State Route 190 Porterville Intersection ImprovementProject. During this stage, construction of the roundabout at SR 190 and Westwood Street will be completed.

The following operation will begin Tuesday, August 18th, weather permitting:

- Westwood Street north of State Route 190 will not be accessible directly from the highway.

- This phase of construction will consist of one-way traffic control. Traffic on SR 190 will be directed through the previously completed portion of the roundabout on the eastbound lanes of SR 190.
- Posted detours will utilize State Route 190, State Route 65, Road 192 and Avenue 152 (Olive Avenue) around the closure location. See map for further directions.
- Active construction hours are scheduled for Monday to Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. each day.
- This phase of construction is expected to last through late October.

Closures may continue for longer periods of time, if necessary, due to delays caused by weather or uncontrollable events that may occur.

Caltrans wants to remind drivers to stay attentive and undistracted while driving and to be cognizant of workers and vehicles in Construction and Maintenance Areas and slow down while driving through Work Zones.

Caltrans would like to thank residents and commuters for their patience during this project and remember to please “Slow for the Cone Zone.”
