9/11 Remembrance

Today marks 25 years since the September 11, 2001, attacks, a day that forever changed our nation.

This morning, Porterville Military Academy cadets gathered in formation to honor and remember the nearly 3,000 lives lost on 9/11, as well as the first responders, service members, and countless Americans whose courage and sacrifice followed.

We were honored to welcome Mr. Gallardo from the Porterville Police Department as our guest speaker, who shared his remarks with our cadets during this morning’s remembrance.

We were also grateful to have members of the Porterville Fire Department in attendance as we paid tribute to the firefighters, law enforcement officers, first responders, and civilians who demonstrated extraordinary courage on September 11, 2001.

Twenty-five years later, we continue to remember.

We will never forget.

Service Academy Information Night

Last night, Porterville Military Academy had the honor of hosting Congressman David Valadao’s Service Academy Night.

Students and families had the opportunity to learn more about our nation’s U.S. Service Academies, the congressional nomination process, and the pathways available to those interested in pursuing a future of leadership and service.

We were especially proud to see two former PMA cadets and graduates in attendance who are now continuing their leadership journey through ROTC at Fresno State. In addition, another PMA alumnus is currently attending the United States Military Academy at West Point!
It was a great turnout, with high school students from the community learning about the application process, requirements, and opportunities available through our nation’s Service Academies.

Seeing our former cadets continue their education, leadership, and service is a proud reminder of where the PMA journey can lead.

PMA Cadets Supporting the Run for Life!

This weekend, 20 PMA cadets proudly attended the Run for Life Cancer Run to support our community and a great cause!

Our cadets participated in the run and encouraged runners and walkers throughout the event. It was a great opportunity for them to demonstrate service, teamwork, leadership, and community involvement.

We are proud of our cadets for stepping up, supporting an important cause, and making a positive impact in our community!

Senior Sunrise 2026!

Today, our seniors came together to celebrate their Senior Sunrise and kick off their final year with breakfast, donuts, laughter, and plenty of fun!

It was a great morning for our Class of 2027 to make memories together and enjoy one of the first special moments of their senior year. We look forward to seeing everything they accomplish throughout the year!

Today, We Welcome Our Newest Cadets!

Today, we proudly promoted our recruits to the rank of Cadet, the first official rank in the California Cadet Corps (CACC)!

These young cadets took the initiative to complete the requirements for promotion and demonstrated their commitment to growing as members of the Corps. This is only the beginning of their journey as they continue to develop their leadership, discipline, responsibility, and confidence.

Congratulations to our newly promoted Cadets! We look forward to seeing them continue to challenge themselves and aspire toward their next rank and future leadership opportunities.

Recognizing Achievement & Leadership at PMA

This morning, we had the opportunity to recognize several of our cadets for their outstanding achievements during Summer Encampment and their continued dedication to the Porterville Military Academy Cadet Corps.

We also celebrated an important milestone as several cadets earned promotions into the Cadet Noncommissioned Officer (NCO) ranks, taking on greater responsibilities as leaders and mentors within the Corps.

We are especially proud to recognize the promotion of one cadet to the field-grade rank of Cadet Major—a significant accomplishment that reflects dedication, leadership, responsibility, and continued growth.

These promotions aren't simply about wearing a new rank. They represent the trust, responsibility, and expectations placed upon our cadet leaders.

Congratulations to all of our recognized and newly promoted cadets! Keep setting the example and leading from the front.

Tonight’s Back-to-School Night was a success!

A huge thank you to all the parents, cadets, and family members who attended and helped make the evening special. It was a great opportunity for families to meet teachers, connect with staff, learn about available resources, and get ready for a successful school year.

We also had many helpful resources, snow cones, and fun activities to keep all ages engaged throughout the evening!

We’re looking forward to a fantastic year ahead!

Club Rush

Yesterday at PMA, we concluded WOW (Week of Welcome) with our annual Club Rush! Cadets had the opportunity to explore the many clubs available on campus, sign up for multiple clubs, and discover new interests and activities.

We’re excited to see our cadets get involved, try new things, build connections, and make the most of their PMA experience!

During WOW Week today, our cadets learned about the many opportunities and benefits that come with participating in school athletics! 🏀🏈⚽🏐🏃‍♂️

Cadets also learned about our partnership with Strathmore High School, which provides PMA students with opportunities to participate and compete in a variety of sports.

Playing sports is about more than competition—it helps students develop teamwork, discipline, leadership, resilience, and school pride. We encourage our cadets to get involved, challenge themselves, and take advantage of the opportunities available to them both in and out of the classroom.
