Summer is here and that means it's time for the annual kids fishing derby at Indian Springs Park! This will be our 10th annual derby, taking place on Thursday, June 18th for kids ages 6-12. This fun (FREE) event features stormwater education, water-related town equipment, lunch, and of course fishing! Registration is limited to the first 50 kids - register by calling the Porter Park Department at (219) 983-1042.

🚨New Tools for the Crew! Thanks to Your Support!🚨

Our Porter Fire Department just upgraded with a massive new set of Milwaukee M18 FUEL tools — all made possible by the generous donations from the Porter 5K and Perfect Pint events!
From high-powered saws and drills to battery packs and more, this equipment will help us respond faster, safer, and more efficiently when it counts.
A huge thank you to everyone who ran, walked, donated, or grabbed a pint — your support directly equips our firefighters to better serve the Town of Porter and our Neighbors!

As Memorial Day comes to a close, we want to share a look back at this morning. Our volunteers had the distinct honor of presenting and raising the flag to start the day.
We hope everyone had a safe and meaningful day spending time with family and remembering the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. We will never forget. 🇺🇸✨
