🐝 Haverhill PTO Needs YOU! πŸ–€πŸ’›

We’re excited to kick off another great year with the Haverhill PTO, and one of our biggest goals for 2026–27 is simple: get more families involved and continue growing our PTO community!

πŸ“… Our first PTO meeting is Monday, September 21 at 6:00 PM.
At this meeting, we’ll vote on our 2026–27 PTO Board.

Interested in serving on the board? Check out the flyer for the open positions and descriptions.

πŸ‘‰ Board interest forms are due by September 11 using the Google Form/QR code on the flyer.

But here’s the important part: Being part of the Haverhill PTO does NOT mean you have to hold a board position or attend every meeting! πŸ™Œ

We want parents, grandparents, and family members to be able to help in ways that fit their interests AND their schedules. The same Google Form allows you to let us know where you might like to jump in. A few areas where we already know we’ll need some extra Hornet power:

🐝 Family Dance Committee
πŸ“š Battle of the Books Co-Chair
πŸ“Έ Yearbook Committee
πŸ’› Teacher Appreciation Week Committee
πŸƒ Hustle Committee

Maybe you can help at one event. Maybe you want to join a committee. Maybe you're ready to jump onto the board. Every little bit helps, and EVERYONE is welcome!

We have an incredible school community, and we'd love to see even more of our families become part of what makes the Hive such a special place. Come when you can. Help where you can. Be part of the fun! πŸ–€πŸ’›πŸ

πŸ“± Want to stay up to date on all things PTO? Join our private Haverhill PTO Facebook Group:
https://www.facebook.com/share/g/18ngZaha2N/

⚠️ Don't forget to answer the membership questions so we can approve your request!

Together, we can help our Hornets LEARN, GROW, and THRIVE! πŸπŸ–€πŸ’›

🐝 Someone might be having TOO much fun at recess… πŸ˜‚

We’re pretty sure Mrs. Flenorl is supposed to be supervising the playground, but judging by the looks of things, she may be having more fun than the kids!

And Mrs. Flenorl… we might need to talk about how high you’re going on that zip line! 😳🀣

Just another day at the Hive where apparently recess has no age limit! πŸπŸ’›

What an Exciting Day at the Hive! 🐝

Today, we welcomed our friends from Woodland Elementary to Haverhill for a special day of collaborative learning!

Both schools have been working together on professional development focused on collaborative teaching and learning models. Today, our students had the opportunity to put that learning into action by participating in activities with their grade-level peers from Woodland.

Our Woodland friends explored our new building, visited classrooms, and made new friends along the way. It was an exciting experience for students and staff from both schools!

Ms. Carson, our Woodland and Haverhill teachers, and I will continue working together to create more opportunities for our students to learn and collaborate throughout the school year.

What a great way to start the year! πŸ’›πŸ–€

πŸ”πŸŒ• Check out these incredible pictures taken by Mr. Hause through his telescope!

On August 27–28, we experienced a partial lunar eclipse. Mr. Hause took more than 100 pictures and shared some of his favorites with us. How cool is that?
Thank you, Mr. Hause! 🐝

πŸπŸ’— Wearing Pink for Mrs. Silliman πŸ’—πŸ

Yesterday, on our first full day of school, the Haverhill staff wore pink to show our love and support for our wonderful librarian, Mrs. Silliman.

Mrs. Silliman underwent surgery yesterday morning as she begins phase two of her journey. Before stepping away for the next couple of weeks, she spent the first day of her 28th year in education preparing everything for our students and Mrs. Hill, who will care for the library in her absence. That is Mrs. Silliman. Always thinking about others and always giving her heart to the Hive.

She and her family are incredibly grateful for the continued love, support, positive thoughts, and prayers from our Haverhill community. We look forward to welcoming her back when she is healthy, healed, and ready.

We love you, Mrs. Silliman! The entire Hive is BUZZING with support for you! πŸ’—πŸ

🐝 What an ELECTRIC First Day at the Hive! ⚑️

Haverhill Families,

What a difference a year makes! Today was such a great first day. Using multiple areas to welcome students into the building made a HUGE difference, and it was so much fun seeing our Hornets back at the Hive!

We did notice that we didn’t quite fill the cafeteria for Sips, Sips, Hooray! with our PTO this morning. Apparently, the charm of our β€œnew” school has already worn off. πŸ˜‚ Or maybe everyone was just ready to get those kids back to us!

A quick reminder that tomorrow’s arrival will look different than today.

🐝 The playground will be available in the morning.

πŸ₯ž Breakfast begins at 8:10 AM.

🌳 Students may begin congregating in the Grove at 8:25 AM.

🍎 Our Young 5s and Kindergarten Hornets will be able to enter a few minutes earlier, and we’ll have lots of adults ready to help them find their way and start their day.

Thank you for trusting us with your kids. There was a BUZZ in the Hive today, and it felt SO GOOD to be back!

Day 1 of 2026–27 is in the books! πŸπŸ’›

- Pick-up and drop-off times are estimates and may vary slightly.
- Students should be at their assigned stop and ready to board at least five minutes early.
- Courtesy riders will not be assigned transportation until October 1, 2026. Courtesy transportation will depend on available space.

πŸ’¦πŸ Last Friday, our students enjoyed a well-earned Super Soaker Reward after successfully meeting our school-wide behavior challenge.

This challenge was designed to encourage safe, responsible, and respectful behavior in the cafeteria and on the playground- two places with many opportunities to practice making positive choices. Over the course of the challenge, students worked hard to follow expectations, show kindness, solve problems appropriately, and demonstrate self-control during lunch and recess.

Students were rewarded for their efforts by getting a chance to spray their recess supervisors, Ms. Flenorl and Mr. Zonts, with water! There was plenty of laughter, excitement, and school sports as everyone got in on the celebration! πŸπŸ’¦
