🏈 WE'RE HIRING: FLAG FOOTBALL COACHES! 🏈

Portage Park & Recreation is looking for energetic individuals to join our team as Flag Football Coaches for our youth program (K–5th grades)!

Position Highlights:
💲Pay: $11+ / hour (depending on experience)
⏰Schedule: Thursdays (4:00 PM – 6:30 PM) & Saturdays (9:00 AM – 11:30 AM)
📆Dates: September 24th – October 17th
✅Parent Bonus: If you have a child in the program, your child's registration fee is waived!

Qualifications:
🔹Ages 14+ welcome to apply
🔹Youth football knowledge or playing experience
🔹Positive, encouraging, and great with kids
🔹Reliable and able to work independently

Responsibilities:
🏈Run fun drills and scrimmages under direction of the program supervisor
🏈Assist with equipment setup and cleanup for practices and games

🚛👻 Truck or Treat is coming back to Portage! 🎃🚜

Join the Portage Park & Recreation Department for a fun Halloween-themed evening! Kids can get up close to explore the large trucks and vehicles they see around town, plus "Trick or Treat" at each stop along the way! 🍬🎃

📅 When: Wednesday, October 28th
⏰ Time: 4:00 PM – 5:30 PM
📍 Where: Portage Fairgrounds
🎟️ Cost: FREE! No registration required.

Put on your costumes and bring the whole family for a spooktacular evening of big trucks and sweet treats! See you there! 🛻👻

2026–2027 Winter Vehicle Storage Info 🚤🚐

Looking to store a boat, camper, RV, or vehicle over the winter? Portage Park & Recreation offers winter storage in enclosed, locked buildings or under open-air shelters at the Portage Fairgrounds! This is a first-come, first-served event. Reservations are not accepted.

📅 Move-In Dates:
-Friday, October 23rd: 8:00 AM – 9:00 AM
-Saturday, October 24th: 8:00 AM – 9:00 AM

(Unable to make those dates? Call our office the following Monday to inquire about an individual appointment, pending space availability.)

🗓️ Move-Out Date:
-Saturday, April 3rd, 2027: 8:00 AM – 9:00 AM

💲 Pricing (Check Only):
-Portage Residents: $15/foot (Indoor, secured) | $10/foot (Outdoor)
-Non-Residents: $20/foot (Indoor, secured) | $15/foot (Outdoor)

Payment is a one-time fee due at Move-In and must be paid via check. Items will be measured front-to-back (including trailers and hitches) by City Staff at Move-In.
