From the Superintendent

Dear Portage Township Schools families and staff:

This afternoon, Indiana Governor Eric Holcomb announced that all schools in Indiana will remain closed through May 1, 2020. Therefore, Portage Township Schools will continue with our e-learning schedule through this date. We will continue to host our regularly scheduled spring break the week of March 23, then all students will continue to participate in e-learning days every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday with no e-learning on our Tuesday and Thursday waiver days. This decision was made with an abundance of caution as we put the health, safety, and well-being of our students and staff first.

I would like to commend the efforts of our community as we work together to ensure our children are fed and educated during this time. We recognize how challenging this situation is for our families, students, and staff. However, the hard work and generosity of our citizens is a testament to our strength as a community. I would like to thank you all for your patience and understanding while we work to continue providing education opportunities to our students during this unprecedented situation. Some Members of the Portage Youth Council attended Hannah’s Hope Volunteer Dinner Last night.
Portage Youth Council is hosting the first basketball tournament between Portage Police and Portage Fire to raise money for Hannah’s Hope Park Fund on Thursday, January 30th at Willowcreek Middle School!
