The American Cancer Society Relay For Life is a life-changing event that gives everyone in communities across the globe a chance to celebrate the lives of people who have battled cancer, remember loved ones lost, and fight back against the disease. We are looking for people to help with organize an online auction for 2022. This would not be a long-term time commitment. If several people could help a little, we can accomplish a lot. Areas where help is needed include:


Soliciting items (a script is available) as well as an initial contact list of possible donors. You can always branch out on your own with your own contacts.

Picking up the items (specific geographical areas of the city at a time; such as Portage, West Side, Downtown, Westnedge Hill, etc).

Reaching out to some larger corporations (i.e. Disney, Shedd Aquarium, MSU, etc. for possible donations).

Photographing items / assigning lot numbers /determining minimum amount acceptable – typically 50% of value.

Marketing the auction - on social media and the press

7 PM CST – Luminaria Ceremony
8 PM CST – Closing Ceremony
