Corporal Schmidt had a great time giving Liam, Hailey, and Wyatt a ride to school last week!

We truly enjoy supporting our local organizations and schools through donations of these rides to school. Opportunities like this not only allow us to give back to our community, but also help show parents, kids, and community members that law enforcement is an exciting and rewarding career — and that we are here to protect, serve, and build positive relationships within our community!

Tessa, Billy, and Keaton enjoyed spending the morning together before getting a ride to school with Corporal Schmidt in one of our squad cars.

We already knew they were strong — but they showed us just how strong they really are when they tested their muscles by lifting up the shield!

Their parents said they couldn’t stop talking about the experience afterward! We hope they had a great day at school!

As we wrap up Mental Health Awareness Month, we wanted to bring to light a statistic:

Su***de is one of the leading causes of death in the United States, but it is also preventable. Many people struggling with thoughts of su***de want help and are willing to talk about what they are experiencing.

Warning signs can include expressing hopelessness, talking about wanting to die, withdrawing from family and friends, giving away personal belongings, or saying goodbye as if they do not expect to be seen again.

If you or someone you know is struggling, help is available and no one has to face these feelings alone.

📞 Call or Text 988 to reach the Su***de & Crisis Lifeline
📱 Text 741741 to connect with the Crisis Text Line
🚨 In a life-threatening emergency, call 911

A conversation, a phone call, or simply checking in on someone can make a difference.

Deputy Thompson gave James and Otis a ride to school last week, and it’s safe to say it was a morning they won’t soon forget!

Maybe it was arriving at school in style with the lights and sirens on, or maybe it was getting the chance to try on an armored vest and check out the back seat of a squad car. Either way, smiles were all around!

Deputy Thompson, James, and Otis all enjoyed spending the morning together before the boys headed off for a full day of learning.

Congratulations to Corporal Schmidt on receiving the Green Bay Packers "Protect & Serve Award" last night at Lambeau Field. Corporal Schmidt was nominated for a lifesaving incident where a 17-year-old subject had sustained a traumatic leg injury from a saw. Corporal Schmidt immediately responded to the scene and located the victim in the backyard. The victim had sustained a catastrophic injury involving severe blood loss and a partial amputation near the ankle. Recognizing the life-threating nature of the injury, Corporal Schmidt quickly took control of the scene, directed family members to assist, and applied a tourniquet to the victim's leg to stop the bleeding. His quick and decisive actions were instrumental in preserving life-threatening blood loss and permanent disability. We are happy to report that the victim survived and has since made a full recovery! Congratulations Corporal Schmidt on this well-deserved award!

What an unforgettable morning for Quinn, Leo, and birthday girl Maddie during their special Ride to School with Deputy Tracy!

Their grandmother, who won the auction bid, was so impressed with Deputy Tracy’s kindness and interaction with the kids that she emailed and called us to share how meaningful the experience was.

And honestly, the look on Maddie’s face while Deputy Tracy was jumping rope with her says everything. What a perfect way to kick off her birthday celebration.
