🚒 HOUSE FIRE – PORT WASHINGTON NORTH
At approximately 5:45 this evening, the Port Washington Fire Department was alerted for a house fire in the Village of Port Washington North
Assistant Chief Patrick Saccoccia was first to arrive and reported a working kitchen fire, prompting the transmission of a Signal 10.
Firefighters conducted searches, stretched and operated hose lines and quickly extinguished the fire. Overhaul was then conducted to ensure the fire was fully extinguished despite extreme colliers conditions.
The occupants were able to safely evacuate the home, along with their several pets. One occupant was evaluated by EMS at the scene and released. There were no firefighter injuries.
The fire does not appear to be suspicious and remains under investigation by the Office of the Fire Marshal - County of Nassau.
Mutual aid companies assisting at the scene included the Plandome Fire Department, Manhasset-Lakeville Volunteer Fire Department and Roslyn Highlands Volunteer Fire Co. Standby coverage was provided by The Albertson Fire Company, the Great Neck Vigilant Fire Company and an ambulance from Manhasset
All units operated under the command of Chief of Department Donald Reese.
