Students put their CAD skills to design solutions for clients on campus and at home.
Mrs. Bohams' Intro to Technology middle students learned CAD software to create 3D printed models. Then used their skills to talk to clients on campus and at home to design an object to fill and need or solve a problem.
Students learned about coworker and client communication skills to discuss their plans with their client. They use a and client contract to clarify a written description and detailed sketch to finalize their plan so both parties agreed to the project.
Students tinkered and produced models for print to give their clients. They applied the design process to make, fix, fix again, and fix again to get their design right. Some prints did not work out the first few attempts!
Taking advantage of Mother's Day, some made a gift for a special woman in their life and earn credit at school. Projects included customized coasters, keychains, pencil holders/mugs, jewelry dish, charms, gavel, bass guitar chord practice, and a box with a working hinge.
Sharks did not disappoint with their creativity!
