Veterans Home staff stepping into the ring?
You better believe it.

On Tuesday, June 9th, Activity and Therapy staff stepped into Coach Ron's Boxings Gym to learn the basics on Boxing technique.

Starting In July, veterans at the WVH won't be heading to exercise class-they'll be stepping into BOXING training.

If the veterans have as much fun as the staff had at the training class, our classes will be a BIG HIT!

Special thanks to Coach Ron and the entire gym team for helping make this vision a reality.

GLOVES UP!

A huge THANK YOU to the Marine Corps Security Force Battalion Bangor and all the incredible volunteers who showed up today to honor our veterans at the Washington Veterans Home Cemetery.

The grounds were absolutely beautiful, with perfectly kept landscaping, towering trees, and rows of headstones shining in the.
sunshine. With clear skies and great weather, volunteers worked diligently across the cemetery, carefully placing a flag at each headstone.

It was a privilege to stand alongside today's service members and volunteers in the solemn duty of serving those who served.

On Tuesday May 19th we had the honor of celebrating the incredible volunteers who support the veterans all year long.

With this year's theme "Every day is a Picnic with Amazing Volunteers," residents helped create centerpieces, and everyone enjoyed a picnic dinner of croissant sandwiches, pasta salad and fruit kebabs.
Each volunteer and group was recognized with a certificate, honoring an incredible 2,809 hours of service between May 25th 2025 to April of 2026.

Thank you for making a difference every single day

79 Boxes. Countless acts of Kindness.

Staff from the Washington Veterans Home proudly delivered 79 halfway boxes to support the single sailor's of a local submarine command. Each box was thoughtfully packed with donated snacks, candy, and essential items made possible by the generosity of our residents and staff.

A special shout out to Violet! Violets mom was present at delivery and gave permission to share her name and photo on our social media, she assisted the crew with unloading boxes with care! Thank you both for being a part of this moment
