⚾📚 The Superintendent’s Summer Home Run Reading Challenge is underway, and there’s still plenty of time to join the fun!

We encourage all students to keep reading throughout the summer and be sure to log their reading minutes in Beanstack to remain eligible for exciting prizes and rewards.

Reading during the summer helps students strengthen their literacy skills, expand their vocabulary, spark their imagination, and stay prepared for a successful start to the new school year.

Dear Port Orange Elementary Families,

I wanted to share that I have accepted a new leadership assignment within Volusia County Schools and will be transitioning from my role as Principal of Port Orange Elementary School.

Serving the students, families, staff, and community of Port Orange Elementary has been the greatest privilege of my career. Over these last two years, I have had the opportunity to witness incredible growth, celebrate countless accomplishments, and build meaningful relationships with so many of you. I am deeply grateful for the trust, support, and partnership you have shown me throughout my time at POE. Together, we have created a school community that cares deeply for one another and always puts children first. For that, I will be forever thankful.

While it is difficult to leave a school community that means so much to me, I am excited to share that the School Board has approved Dr. Rick Inge as the next principal of Port Orange Elementary School.

Dr. Inge is an experienced educational leader who is committed to student success, building strong relationships, and fostering positive learning environments for students and staff. He is already a familiar face within the Port Orange community, having served as Principal of Silver Sands Middle School. His leadership experience and dedication to students make him an excellent fit for Port Orange Elementary, and I am confident he will continue to build upon the strong foundation that makes POE such an exceptional school.

Please join me in warmly welcoming Dr. Inge to Port Orange Elementary School. I know he is eager to meet our students, families, and staff and begin this exciting new chapter with our school community.

Thank you for allowing me the honor of serving as your principal. The memories, relationships, and experiences I have gained at Port Orange Elementary will always hold a special place in my heart. I am incredibly proud of all that we have accomplished together, and I look forward to watching POE continue to thrive in the years ahead.

🍎💙 As the school year comes to a close, we want to thank our VCS teachers for everything you’ve given to your students, schools, and communities this year.

The long days, the encouragement, the patience, the celebrations, and the support — it all matters, and it all makes a difference. Because of you, students learned, grew, gained confidence, and created memories that will stay with them long after this school year ends.

Monday, June 1 is the last day for teachers, and we hope this summer brings you time to rest, recharge, and enjoy a well-earned break. 🌴☀️

Our 5th graders had a whale of a time today on their field study to SeaWorld! 🐋🌊 From exciting shows to up-close animal encounters, the day was filled with oceans of fun and unforgettable memories. On Friday, we celebrated another amazing year with our annual House Games event! Our students had a blast competing in games, showing teamwork and sportsmanship, and enjoying all of the inflatable activities throughout the day.
