After a 14-hour day applying Robert Todd Lincoln's favorite color to our passenger fleet on Saturday, some of our volunteers took the day off on Sunday to visit our friends at The Danbury Railway Museum. This trip also gave us an excuse to get some Cinnabon, so even though DRM wouldn't let us fire up the 1455 and take it to North Station, it was definitely worth the visit. Watch our vlog at:

Saturdays are a day for relaxing at home, getting some chores done, and resetting the mind and soul for a new week of adventure.

It's the same for a museum, except our Saturday chores involve repainting two full-size passenger cars in the same day. Follow along as we do the opposite of making sure our laundry is clean:

We got so much work done AND we found lots of Erie! Why do we ever ...

Due to circumstances beyond our control, our EL caboose C380 unfortunately wasn't able to make it to Steamtown National Historic Site this past weekend for Railfest.

However, we're happy to announce that the public will get another chance to see this unique caboose at a big event! The C380 will be among FOUR pieces of TOYX equipment visiting the United Railroad Historical Society of NJ in Boonton, New Jersey on September 27th for their annual Railroad Museum [for a Day] event! The C380 will be joined by our Conrail caboose 22130 and Conrail boxcar 368191, as well as our Lackawanna dining car 469. Learn more about attending the event at https://www.urhs.org/museumforaday and don't miss this opportunity to view some TOYX equipment surrounded by the URHS's world-class collection of northeastern rolling stock!

P.S. Keep an eye on Virtual Railfan's cameras in Johnstown, Cresson, and Horseshoe Curve in the next 24 hours..... you might catch C380 coming east from Conway to Phillipsburg!

We had a great third and final day at Steamtown National Historic Site's Railfest event! We did a scavenger hunt, reviewed some ice cream, and learned so much about Lackawanna MUs that we couldn't figure out how to actually incorporate it into the video properly. Check out the latest vlog at

As promised, Mike Rinkunas of the Iron Horse Society delivered his untested flavor profile of our EL BBQ sauce yesterday at Steamtown National Historic Site! However, we ALSO made some pulled pork and dropped it off in the morning with the steam crew, who warmed it on the steam chest of Baldwin #26. After we fed the steam crew, Mike got a chance to taste-test the sauce for REAL!

Grab your own bottle of whatever Mike claims it tastes like at https://www.toyx.org/sauce, and apparently buy war bonds too?

Today is the last day of Railfest at Steamtown National Historic Site - have YOU checked out our all-new exhibit on the history of Conrail inside our original Conrail Safety-On-Rails-Theater boxcar? This event is the first time this exhibit has been open to the public, so make sure you run right past Neil Finch and his fancy new haircut to check it out as soon as the park opens at 9AM!
