Thinking of PJFD firefighter Joe Rennish as 9-11-26 approaches. Joe is a quiet, humble hero who lost many of the firefighters he trained as NYC firefighter. Despite this personal great loss, Joe worked for many weeks at Ground Zero in the aftermath.

He shares his story annually despite the pain it clearly still brings him in this recall, as he says he never wants any of his former trainees-turned-professional NYC firefighters to be forgotten.

That's Joe in the photos posted below, and among others who diligently searched the remains and rubble following the attack on 9-11-2001. 🙏

SPECIAL REMEMBRANCE

PJFD members, as a matter of tradition, meets the evening before our Inspection Day Parade to remember our deceased members, and in particular, our members that passed away the previous 12-months.

After years of planning and preparation, we will be unveiling and dedicating a special monument to pay tribute to our members that made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty - Frank L. Schips Jr., Russell D. 'Chipper' Howell and Earl Garrity II.

We welcome our fellow firefighters, our neighbors and our residents to join us.
