At approximately 4:00 a.m this morning., the Terryville Fire Department was dispatched to a reported vehicle fire on Mark Street.

Upon arrival, Chiefs 31 and 33 found a fully involved vehicle with exposure concerns to nearby property. Engine 12 was first due and quickly stretched a handline, bringing the fire under control and extinguishing it before it could extend to any exposures.

Assisting at the scene were Rescue 24 and Engine 2. Excellent work by all responding members!

The Port Jefferson Fire Department is ready, and the countdown is officially on! Our parade lineup is set for this historic milestone, the food has been delivered, and the drinks are already on ice. We can't wait to see the streets of Port Jefferson packed with red, white, and blue! 🎉🚒

📅 When: Saturday, July 4, 2026
🕙 Time: Parade kicks off at 10:00 AM
📍 Where: Main Street, Port Jefferson, NY

🚨 IMPORTANT ROAD CLOSURE NOTICE: 🚨
To ensure everyone's safety, we will start closing the roads just after 8:00 AM. Please plan your travel and parking accordingly so you don't miss a single minute of the excitement!

🍔 POST-PARADE CELEBRATION: 🥤
The celebration doesn't end on the parade route. The public is warmly invited back to the firehouse immediately following the parade for complimentary food and beverages. Come celebrate 250 years of freedom with your local volunteers!
