On Tuesday, May 19, 2026, students from the Advanced Placement (AP) Research class at Comsewogue High School presented their capstone projects to visitors at the second annual AP symposium.

Projects covered a wide variety of topics. Amongst them, students explored how color found in paintings affects emotions, how someone’s age can affect their heart rate while watching a horror movie, the variation of human trust in rapidly growing artificial intelligence, and how scenery and props used in a musical can change how an audience member interprets a scene.

Budget Passes! Thank you Comsewogue!!!

Trustees Francisca Alabau and Sara Feretic have been elected to the Board of Education, each for three year terms, beginning July 1, 2026.

Trustee Lisa Molinelli has been elected to the Board of Education, for a one year term, beginning May 19, 2026.

James Lanze, a senior at Comsewogue High School in the Comsewogue School District, was recently recognized as a Scholar Athlete by the National Football Foundation Suffolk County Chapter. James was honored during the Scholar Athlete Brunch held on April 19 at the Marriott Melville Long Island. In addition to his Varsity football career, James also plays Varsity basketball and is a member of the spring track and field team at Comsewogue High School, demonstrating excellence in all three sports. Our Spring 2026 PBL Showcase is here! We encourage you to take a look at some of the latest PBL projects happening in our classrooms throughout the entire district. In this showcase, you will see how students used the giving and receiving of valentines to build connections with their peers, fourth grade students who used chocolate chip cookies and toothpicks to simulate coal mining techniques, using sequencing steps to best determine how to wrap a present and more!

Don't forget to check out the "Learning from the Field" and "STEAM Exploration" pages, where we highlight real-world experts who have come into our schools to speak to students about their careers and businesses, and showcase STEAM activities in each of our buildings.

This past week from April 25th - 29th DECA held their International Career Development Conference for 2026. Over 26,000 students from all over the United States, Canada and other countries around the world competed in various exams, role-plays and presentations for numerous business related categories. Comsewogue School District had two students attend the conference this year. Dillon Order finished in the top 10 internationally for the Quick Service Restaurant Management exam at this year’s ICDC Conference in Atlanta and Jace Mas completed the DECA Aspire Leadership Academy. Tracer just got back from the Youth Business Summit in New York City, and they absolutely crushed it. Out of the top Virtual Enterprise firms in the country, our team fought their way into the Top 25, even snagging 13th place in the National Business Plan Competition.

It wasn’t just about the numbers, though. Facilitator Aanchal Katyal mentioned how rewarding it’s been to watch this group grow from students into confident, sharp professionals over the last year. CEO Anjali Sooknanan said the summit forced them to stop playing the part and actually start thinking like entrepreneurs, while CFO James Lanze felt the real value was finally seeing their technical skills work in a high-stakes environment. We couldn't be prouder of the "C-Suite" and the entire team. This wasn't just a competition as it was proof that Tracer belongs on the national stage.
