๐Ÿš’ Probationary Firefighter Training Continues ๐Ÿš’

This morning, our probationary firefighters participated in a live vehicle fire training evolution, gaining valuable hands-on experience in a controlled environment.

Training focused on proper vehicle fire extinguishment techniques, hose handling skills, and air management while operating on SCBA. These critical skills help prepare our newest members to safely and effectively respond to real-world emergencies.

We are proud of the dedication and commitment shown by this class as they continue their journey toward becoming fully qualified firefighters.

A strong foundation in training today builds a safer community tomorrow.

๐Ÿšซ๐Ÿ”ฅ Burn Ban Reminder โ€“ Please Read ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿšซ

Recently, weโ€™ve responded to several calls involving residents burning trash and yard debris. This is a reminder that New York State is currently under a Burn Ban, and these types of fires are not permitted.

Open burning can quickly get out of control, especially with changing weather conditions, and poses a serious risk to your home, your neighbors, and our community.

โš ๏ธ Please use caution and follow the burn ban regulations:
โ€ข Do NOT burn household trash or yard waste
โ€ข Properly dispose of debris through approved methods
โ€ข Report any unattended or unsafe fires immediately

Our goal is to keep everyone safe and prevent unnecessary emergencies. We appreciate your cooperation.

Stay safe,
Terryville Fire Department ๐Ÿš’

After 33 years of dedicated service to the Terryville Fire District and Terryville Fire Department, Dispatcher Chris Bishop has signed off for the final time.

For more than three decades, Chris was the calm, steady voice on the other end of the radioโ€”someone we all relied on without hesitation. His dedication, professionalism, and presence meant more to this department than words can fully express.

Chris, thank you for everything youโ€™ve given to this department and this community. You will always be a part of the Terryville family, and you will be deeply missed. Wishing you nothing but the best in this next chapterโ€”youโ€™ve more than earned it.
