Due to inclement weather and out of concern for the safety of our participants, volunteers, and guests, we have unfortunately made the difficult decision to cancel the Walleye Festival Parade.

We sincerely appreciate your interest, support, and willingness to be part of this year’s celebration. The parade is always a highlight of the festival because of the incredible community participation, and we are truly grateful for your involvement.

TOPIC: PORT CLINTON DECLARES SNOW EMERGENCY

After consulting with representatives from the National Weather Service Office in Cleveland, Ohio and meteorologist from multiple network affiliates in Toledo, Ohio, the Safety Service Director, of City of Port Clinton will be declaring a Snow Emergency effective at 8:00 PM on Saturday, January 24, 2026. This Snow Emergency will remain in effect until such time as the roadways are considered safe and passable.
During the duration of a Declared Snow Emergency, no vehicles shall be parked on any roadway or other public surface.

Vehicle owners are encouraged to utilize off street parking such as their personal driveway or make arrangements with neighbors, friends or family to utilize/share their driveway or other non-public area for parking. Alternatively, arrangements have been made with the following private parking areas throughout the City of Port Clinton should vehicle owners have no alternatives for parking vehicles during the duration of this Snow Emergency. It is understood that these locations are made available to the public with no claim of responsibility by the property owner or City of Port Clinton and the public is asked to respect and adhere to any special conditions associated with the use of these spaces during this Snow Emergency:

- Ottawa County Family Advocacy Center: 570 S. McKinley (park on the south side of the lot)
- True-Lay Stadium / 5th Street Lot (gravel lot located between 5th Street & Fremont Road
- Immaculate Conception Church: Lot located at the corner of Madison Street & W. 5th Street: park along W. 5th Street
- Port Clinton Senior Center: 320 E. 3rd Street
- Our Guest Inn & Suites: 220 E. Perry – park in the lot behind Wendy’s
- Gerner-Wolf-Walker Funeral Home: 216 Washington Street – park in the lot on the east side of Washington St. as far east as possible.
- Bell’s Tavern & Pizza: 307 Fulton Street: Park at the east end of the lot / if possible, advise staff your vehicle is in the lot.
- Port Clinton Plaza (aka Little Bassett’s Market): Park on the south side of the building behind the former Rite Aide
- Port Clinton City Hall: 1868 E. Perry Street

The city is also asking that you be a good neighbor and check on the elderly in our community and share this information with those that may be out of town so they too can make arrangements to relocate their on-street parked vehicles.

Updates to this Snow Emergency will be placed on official City social media outlets and shared with other traditional media sources.
