Driving along Boston Post Road has been damper than usual as Veolia Water coordinates with McDonalds to complete a service line repair that is presently leaking.

1/2 of the work has been completed and the utility provider remains hopeful that the balance of the work will be completed WEDNESDAY NIGHT.

The restaurant’s 24/7 operation has made this repair process extremely difficult as water to the establishment needs to be turned off for the duration of the project.

Updates on schedule adjustments will be shared when provided.

This morning the Village of Port Chester unfurled this year's American Flag at Village Hall in celebration of Flag Day 2026 AND America's 250th Birthday!

Although we celebrate the raising of a new flag at village hall every June, this year in recognition of our nation's 250th birthday, we also celebrated the talent and knitting skills of our residents and awarded small prizes recognizing their contributions and art.

The flags knitted by the participants of this year's Red, White, and Stitches contest will remain on display on the first floor of village hall for all to see- come check them out!

TRAFFIC ALERT!!!

Are you feeling like there may be more traffic in the downtown this morning than usual?

We know. Unfortunately a motor vehicle accident on I287 is forcing many motorists to exit the roadway or avoid that area by traveling through the village as a bypass option.

The Port Chester Police Department is aware of the traffic building in the village and patrolling to assist with intersections.

The village continues to make progress on its largescale sewer project between Purdy Avenue and Waterfront Pl. with some lane adjustments- Purdy Avenue remains open at this time.

Plan accordingly!

POWER OUTAGE

Dear Residents,

Con Edison has responded to a fallen tree on Wesley Avenue that has caused power loss to the surrounding homes there and to customers near or around Port Chester High School.

Port Chester Police have deployed temporary stop signs for traffic controls in intersections where traffic lights have been affected by this power loss.

Motorists are advised to maintain focus while driving and be aware of pedestrians and work crews in the right-of-way.

Con Edison hopes to have this power restored as soon as they can remove the tree and repair the electrical lines.

Beginning today and through the end of Summer- the Port Chester Senior Community Center will serve all residents as a colling and charging center when necessary.

Hours and days of operation may be adjusted or extended and will be announced when necessary.

Pat Corsetti, Inc, the village's contractor performing the improvements at Grace Church Street's EDGEWOOD PARK is mobilizing, today!

Soon the village will restore the playground area with new equipment and protective fencing.

This project is estimated to take several months to complete and is being funded entirely by fair-share mitigation fees payable to village from downtown investment and redevelopment projects.

Port Chester emergency services has been alerted of three trees that have fallen due to wind/ rain in the last hour at:

King Street (@ Betsy Brown Rd)
Horton Avenue (@ N. Main St)
Adams Ave (@ Munson St)

The Department of Public Works is coordinating a response to clear these areas.

Thank you for your patience and cooperation in avoiding these intersections when possible.
